Quasiparticle self-consistent $G W$ calculations of the electronic band structure of bulk and monolayer $V_{2} O_{5}$

Quasiparticle self-consistent (QS) GW calculations are performed for bulk and monolayer V₂O₅. The orbital character of the bands and the bulk monolayer difference at the LDA level are discussed first. We discover that the QSGW self-energy overestimates the gap by an unusually large amount. The main reason for this is identified to be the lattice polarization effect: The large LO-TO splittings in this polar material enhance the screening and reduce the screened Coulomb interaction affecting the gap. Electronic structure of copper phthalocyanine from $G_{0} W_{0}$ calculations

We present all-electron G0W0 calculations for the electronic structure of the organic semiconductor copper phthalocyanine, based on semilocal and hybrid density-functional theory (DFT) starting points. We show that G0W0 calculations improve the quantitative agreement with high resolution photoemission and inverse photoemission experiments. However, the extent of the improvement provided by G0W0 depends significantly on the choice of the underlying DFT functional, with the hybrid functional serving as a much better starting point than the semilocal one. Electron-Phonon Coupling from Ab Initio Linear-Response Theory within the $G W$ Method: Correlation-Enhanced Interactions and Superconductivity in ${Ba}_{1 - x} K_{x} {BiO}_{3}$

We present a new first-principles linear-response theory of changes due to perturbations in the quasiparticle self-energy operator within the GW method. This approach, named GW perturbation theory (GW PT), is applied to calculate the electron-phonon (e-ph) interactions with the full inclusion of the GW nonlocal, energy-dependent self-energy effects, going beyond density-functional perturbation theory. Avoiding limitations of the frozen-phonon technique, GW PT gives access to e-ph matrix elements at the GW level for all phonons and scattering processes, and the computational cost scales linearly with the number of phonon modes (wave vectors and branches) investigated. Photoemission and dynamical mean field theory study of electronic correlations in a $t_{2 g}^{5}$ metal ${SrRhO}_{3}$ thin film

Perovskite rhodates are characterized by intermediate strengths of both electronic correlation as well as spinorbit coupling (SOC) and usually behave as moderately correlated metals. A recent publication [Phys. Rev. B 95, 245121 (2017)] on epitaxial SrRhO3 thin films reported a bad-metallic behavior and suggested the occurrence of antiferromagnetism below 100 K. We have further studied this SrRhO3 thin film by hard x-ray photoemission spectroscopy and found a very small density of states (DOS) at the Fermi level (E-F), which is consistent with the previously reported bad-metallic behavior.
