In the light of new g factor results for the stable isotopes between {sup 122}Te and {sup 130}Te, the calibration and modeling of the recoil-in-vacuum (RIV) interaction for Te ions is reexamined, and the recent radioactive-beam g factor measurement on {sup 132}Te by the RIV technique is reevaluated. The implications for further RIV g-factor measurements in the {sup 132}Sn region are discussed.

First-excited state $g$ factor of ${}^{136}{Te}$ by the recoil in vacuum method

The g factor of the first 2⁺ state of radioactive ¹³⁶Te with two valence protons and two valence neutrons beyond double-magic ¹³²Sn has been measured by the recoil in vacuum (RIV) method. The lifetime of this state is an order of magnitude longer than the lifetimes of excited states recently measured by the RIV method in Sn and Te isotopes, requiring a new evaluation of the free-ion hyperfine interactions and methodology used to determine the g factor. g-Factor Measurements of First 2+ States of Heavy Te Isotopes Based on Nuclear Spin Deorientation for Nuclei Recoiling in Vacuum

We demonstrate that the recoil-in-vacuum (RIV) method can be used to determine the g-factor of the Coulomb excited first 2+ state of {sup 132}Te. This was possible owing to advantages provided by CLARION (ORNL clover multi-detector array) and the segmented charged particle detector HyBall. Calibratory experiments were performed with {sup 122,126,130}Te and a g-factor of {sup 132}Te was deduced g = (+)0.35(5).
