We investigate hard photon production in a chemically equilibrating quark-gluons plasma with finite baryon density at one-loop and two-loop based on Juettner distribution of partons of the system. We find that the photon yield increases obviously with increasing the initial quark chemical potential, and the photon production is dominated by early times. In addition, obvious difference between the calculated production and the one in the thermodynamic equilibrium system shows that the study of photon production in the chemically equilibrating system is very significant.

Quark-gluon plasma at finite baryon density: A large-N/sub c/ approach

A simple model for the quark-gluon plasma with a nonzero baryon number B is developed in a microcanonical (i.e., fixed B) approach. The model exhibits features which one expects will emerge from a nonperturbative treatment of QCD. We show the existence of a critical chemical potential ..mu../sub c/ such that, for T>0, physical properties are unaffected by chemical potentials ..mu.. when chemically bond..mu..chemically bond<..mu../sub c/. ..mu../sub c/ therefore resembles a mass gap.

Viscosity and dilepton production of a chemically equilibrating quark-gluon plasma at finite baryon density

By considering the effect of shear viscosity we have investigated the evolution of a chemically equilibrating quark-gluon plasma at finite baryon density. Based on the evolution of the system we have performed a complete calculation for the dilepton production from the following processes: qq{yields}ll, qq{yields}gll, Compton-like scattering (qg{yields}qll,qg{yields}qll), gluon fusion (gg{yields}cc), annihilation (qq{yields}cc), as well as the multiple scattering of quarks. We have found that quark-antiquark annihilation, Compton-like scatterring, gluon fusion, and multiple scattering of quarks give important contributions. Octet baryon magnetic moments in the chiral quark model with configuration mixing

The Coleman{endash}Glashow sum-rule for magnetic moments is always fulfilled in the chiral quark model, independently of SU(3) symmetry breaking. This is due to the structure of the wave functions, coming from the non-relativistic quark model. Experimentally, the Coleman{endash}Glashow sum-rule is violated by about ten standard deviations. To overcome this problem, two models of wave functions with configuration mixing are studied. One of these models violates the Coleman{endash}Glashow sum-rule to the right degree and also reproduces the octet baryon magnetic moments rather accurately. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
