Analytic solution for the revised helicity evolution at small $x$ and large $N_{c}$ : New resummed gluon-gluon polarized anomalous dimension and intercept

We construct an exact analytic solution of the revised small-x helicity evolution equations derived by Cougoulic et al. [J. High Energy Phys. 07 (2022) 095], based on the earlier work of Kovchegov et al. [J. High Energy Phys. 01 (2016) 072; Phys. Rev. D 99, 054032 (2019)]. The equations we solve are obtained in the large-N_c limit (with N_c the number of quark colors) and are double logarithmic [summing powers of α_sln²(1/x) with α_s the strong coupling constant and x the Bjorken x variable]. Our solution provides small-x, large-N_c expressions for the flavor-singlet quark and gluon helicity parton distribution functions and for the g₁ structure function, with their leading small-x asymptotics given by ΔΣ(x,Q²) ~ ΔG(x,Q²) ~ g₁(x,Q²) ~ (more »« less

Small- $x$ Evolution of the Gluon Generalized Parton Distribution $E_{g}$ of the Nucleon

Here, we study the small-x evolution equation for the gluon generalized parton distribution E_g of the nucleon. It is shown that E_g at vanishing skewness exhibits the Regge behavior identical to the Balitsky-Fadin Kuraev-Lipatov pomeron despite its association with nucleon helicity-flip processes. We also consider the effect of gluon saturation and demonstrate that E_g gets saturated in the same way as its helicity-nonflip counterpart H_g. Our result has a direct impact on the modeling of E_g as well as the small-x contribution to nucleon spin sum rules

Probing the Small- $x$ Gluon Tomography in Correlated Hard Diffractive Dijet Production in Deep Inelastic Scattering

The close connection between the quantum phase space Wigner distribution of small-x gluons and the color dipole scattering amplitude is investigated, and studying it experimentally is proposed in the hard diffractive dijet production at the planned electron-ion collider. The angular correlation between the nucleon recoiled momentum and the dijet transverse momentum probes the nontrivial correlation in the phase space Wigner distribution. This experimental study not only provides three-dimensional tomographic pictures of gluons inside high energy protons - it gives a unique and interesting signal for the small-x dynamics with QCD evolution effects.
