We investigate theories in which the technifermions in higher dimensional representations of the technicolor gauge group dynamically break the electroweak symmetry of the standard model. Somewhat surprisingly, for the two-index symmetric representation of the gauge group the lowest number of techniflavors needed to render the underlying gauge theory quasiconformal is two. This is exactly one doublet of technifermions with respect to the weak interactions promoting these theories to ideal candidates of walking type technicolor models. Multijet discriminators for new physics in leptonic signals at the LHC

Some of the cleanest signals for new physics in the early runs of the LHC will involve strongly produced particles which give rise to multiple leptons by undergoing cascade decays through weakly interacting states to stable particles. Some of the most spectacular final states will involve three or more leptons, multiple jets and generally missing energy-momentum as well. A triad of the most interesting models of new physics which induce such signals is known to consist of (i) supersymmetry with R-parity conservation, (ii) a universal extra dimension with conservation of KK-parity, and (iii) little Higgs models with conserved T-parity. LHC multijet events as a probe for anomalous dimension-six gluon interactions

Higher-dimensional multigluon interactions affect essentially all effective Lagrangian analyses at the LHC. We show that, contrary to common lore, such operators are best constrained in multijet production. Our limit on the corresponding new physics scale in the multi-TeV range exceeds the typical reach of global dimension-six Higgs boson and top analyses. As a result, this implies that the pure Yang-Mills operator can safely be neglected in almost all specific higher-dimensional analyses at Run II.
