Abstract

A novel regenerable composition for removing hydrogen chloride and hydrogen sulfide from a gas stream, the sorbent comprising a mixture containing from about 5 wt % manganese oxide to about 99 wt. % manganese oxides where manganese can exist in various oxidation states.
