This data was collected for Tonita et al., “Vertical bifacial photovoltaic system model validation: study with field data, various orientations, and latitudes,” for validation of optical models for vertically-oriented photovoltaics under high albedo. Ground irradiance data for vertical PV arrays modeling in agrivoltaics is also provided. The dataset is provided for further use or study as open source. Ground Magnetic Data for West-Central Colorado

Modeled ground magnetic data was extracted from the Pan American Center for Earth and Environmental Studies database at http://irpsrvgis08.utep.edu/viewers/Flex/GravityMagnetic/GravityMagnetic_CyberShare/ on 2/29/2012. The downloaded text file was then imported into an Excel spreadsheet. This spreadsheet data was converted into an ESRI point shapefile in UTM Zone 13 NAD27 projection, showing location and magnetic field strength in nano-Teslas. This point shapefile was then interpolated to an ESRI grid using an inverse-distance weighting method, using ESRI Spatial Analyst. The grid was used to create a contour map of magnetic field strength.

Data for 2 front-facing and 4 rear-facing IMT irradiance sensors placed on a scaled-down setup that replicate a PV array in a highly-reflective rooftop. The test-bed consist of 3 rows of 20x2ft aluminum sheets (the “panels”), supported by a Unistrut structure, with 6 irradiance sensors (IMT) measuring front and rear irradiance in the center module of the center row.
