Abstract

The Baltimore Travel Dataset—conducted by the U.S. Federal Highway Administration and the University of California, Berkeley—is a detailed survey of demographic characteristics and travel patterns for 967 households in Baltimore, Maryland. The survey was conducted in May and June of 1977. The original goal of the survey was to collect an “ideal” dataset for disaggregate travel demand analysis.

The Chicago Area Transportation Study (CATS) 1990 Household Travel Survey was a self-administered mail-out mail-back survey. The purpose of the study was to update existing data on travel patterns and characteristics of Chicago residents. The 2002 Household Travel Survey for the municipality of Anchorage, Alaska, collected demographic, socioeconomic, and travel information about households and persons (age five and older) on an assigned, 24-hour travel period.
