Abstract

CERN-LHC. Study of high-mass lepton pairs (electron-positrons or muon-antimuons) produced in proton-proton collisions at a centre of mass energy of 7 TeV using data samples with integrated luminsoity of 4.9 fb-1 in the electron channel and 5.0 fb-1 in the muon channel. The results are interpreted in the search for the heavy boson resonances: heavy neutral Zprime gauge bosons, Randall-Sundrum gravitons, Z* bosons, techni-mesons, Kaluza-Klein Z/gamma bosons and bosons predicted by Torsion models.

This Letter reports on a search for narrow high-mass resonances decaying into dilepton final states. The data were recorded by the ATLAS experiment in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider and correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 1.08 (1.21) fb⁻¹ in the e⁺e⁻ (μ⁺μ⁻) channel. No statistically significant excess above the standard model expectation is observed and upper limits are set at the 95% C.L. on the cross section times branching fraction of Z' resonances and Randall-Sundrum gravitons decaying into dileptons as a function of the resonance mass. Search for WZ resonances in the fully leptonic channel using pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

CERN-LHC. A search for resonant WZ production in the l nu lprime lprime (l, lprime = e,mu) decay channel using 20.3 fb^{-1} of sqrt(s) = 8 TeV pp collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment at LHC is presented. No significant deviation from the Standard Model prediction is observed and upper limits on the production cross sections of WZ resonances from an extended gauge model W^{prime} and from a simplified model of heavy vector triplets are derived. A corresponding observed (expected) lower mass limit of 1.52 (1.49) TeV is derived for the W^{prime} at the 95% confidence level.
