Abstract

This data was acquired as part of the Subsurface Science, Technology and Engineering Research, and Development (SubTER) Crosscut which is a collaboration across the Department of Energy offices involved in research activities in energy production/extraction, subsurface storage, and environmental remediation. The contents of this zip contains the ZTEM survey measured and processed results for the Mineral Mountains area, Utah. The data were acquired through subcontract to Geotech Inc of Aurora, ON, Canada and their narrative report is included. There are also two readme.txt file included that further describe the data.

Subsurface Science, Technology and Engineering Research, and Development (SubTER) Crosscut is a collaboration across the Department of Energy offices involved in research activities in energy production/extraction, subsurface storage, and environmental remediation. This submission contains the edi-format responses of 80 tensor MT soundings taken over the Mineral Mountains of SW Utah by contractor Quantec Geoscience Inc. as part of the SubTER project. It includes contractor png images of the soundings plus the responses computed with two different remote references. There is also a readme text file that contains more information about the dataset.

Ground gravity is a common and useful tool for geothermal exploration. Gravity surveys map density changes in the subsurface that may be caused by tectonic deformation such as faulting, fracturing, plutonism, volcanism, hydrothermal alteration, etc. Full Tensor Gravity Gradient (FTG) data has been used for over a decade in both petroleum and mining exploration to map changes in density associated with geologic structure. Measuring the gravity gradient, rather than the gravity field, provides significantly higher resolution data. Utah FORGE 2020-2021 Geothermal Energy/EGS Survey and Results

The Utah FORGE project collaborated with the University of Utahs Department of Communication on a Capstone course during Fall Semester 2020. The course created a survey to gauge the general populations knowledge of geothermal energy and Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS). The survey was distributed through Qualtrics, an experience management company, in late 2020 and early 2021 to respondents in 11 western states (AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA, WY). Gravity survey of the Cove Fort-Sulphurdale KGRA and the North Mineral Mountains area, Millard and Beaver Counties, Utah. Technical report: Volume 77-4

During the summers of 1975 and 1976, a gravity survey was conducted in the Cove Fort-Sulphurdale KGRA and north Mineral Mountains area, Millard and Beaver Counties, Utah. The survey consisted of 671 gravity stations covering an area of about 1300 km/sup 2/, and included two orthogonal gravity profiles traversing the area. The gravity data are presented as a terrain-corrected Bouguer gravity anomaly map with a contour interval of 1 mgal and as an isometric three-dimensional gravity anomaly surface.
