Abstract

This data set contains carbon dioxide concentration values and supporting metadata information measured at a tall tower (KCMP radio station, 244 meters) site near St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. The data package includes a text file containing hourly continuous carbon dioxide concentration measurements from 2007 to 2019, including raw, de-spiked, and gap filled data. Carbon dioxide concentrations were measured at approximately 100 meters using tunable diode laser spectroscopy. The instrumentation was maintained at the base of the tall tower in a temperature-controlled building. This data was collected to track and improve the understanding of carbon dioxide levels over a twelve year period for the region.

The WindCube v2 was co-located with Site 300’s 52-m-tall meteorological tower so that measurements below 40 m could also be observed. The meteorological tower has three measurement levels: 10 m, 23 m, and 52 m. Wind speed was measured with a cup anemometer; wind direction with a wind vane. Data are available as 15-minute averages.

These are data from soil CO2 flux surveys done in the Utah FORGE study area near Roosevelt Hot Springs. Concentration is in units of ppm and is the final concentration of CO2 in the chamber after the up-to-2-minute flux measurement. Flux is in units of grams of CO2 per m^2.

These data have been aggregated from half-hourly observations that are available from AmeriFlux (https://ameriflux.lbl.gov/; site PE-QFR). These data files are CSV (comma separated values) format and can be imported using Matlab, R, or Excel.
