Title: Materials Data on LaZn2Co by Materials Project

Abstract

LaCoZn2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. La is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Co and six equivalent Zn atoms. There are two shorter (2.86 Å) and two longer (3.17 Å) La–Co bond lengths. There are four shorter (3.19 Å) and two longer (3.28 Å) La–Zn bond lengths. Co is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to four equivalent La and six equivalent Zn atoms. There are two shorter (2.55 Å) and four longer (2.67 Å) Co–Zn bond lengths. Zn is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to three equivalent La, three equivalent Co, and four equivalent Zn atoms. There are a spread of Zn–Zn bond distances ranging from 2.56–2.73 Å.
