Materials Data on SmAl2Ni by Materials Project
Abstract
SmNiAl2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ni and ten equivalent Al atoms. There are one shorter (2.93 Å) and two longer (3.18 Å) Sm–Ni bond lengths. There are a spread of Sm–Al bond distances ranging from 3.17–3.42 Å. Ni is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Sm and six equivalent Al atoms. There are two shorter (2.47 Å) and four longer (2.50 Å) Ni–Al bond lengths. Al is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Sm and three equivalent Ni atoms.
