Materials Data on K by Materials Project
Abstract
K is alpha Po structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal P4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. K is bonded to six equivalent K atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing KK6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. There are two shorter (4.27 Å) and four longer (4.35 Å) K–K bond lengths.
