Materials Data on UFe2 by Materials Project
Abstract
UFe2 is Cubic Laves structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fd-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. U is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent U and twelve equivalent Fe atoms. All U–U bond lengths are 3.02 Å. All U–Fe bond lengths are 2.89 Å. Fe is bonded to six equivalent U and six equivalent Fe atoms to form a mixture of corner, edge, and face-sharing FeU6Fe6 cuboctahedra. All Fe–Fe bond lengths are 2.47 Å.
