Materials Data on UN by Materials Project
Abstract
UN1 is Halite, Rock Salt structured and crystallizes in the trigonal R-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. U3+ is bonded to six equivalent N3- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing UN6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. All U–N bond lengths are 2.44 Å. N3- is bonded to six equivalent U3+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing NU6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°.
