Title: Materials Data on Mg3ZnC by Materials Project

Abstract

Mg3ZnC is (Cubic) Perovskite structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg is bonded in a linear geometry to four equivalent Zn and two equivalent C atoms. All Mg–Zn bond lengths are 3.12 Å. Both Mg–C bond lengths are 2.20 Å. Zn is bonded to twelve equivalent Mg atoms to form ZnMg12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent ZnMg12 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent ZnMg12 cuboctahedra, and faces with eight equivalent CMg6 octahedra. C is bonded to six equivalent Mg atoms to form CMg6 octahedra that share corners with six equivalent CMg6 octahedra and faces with eight equivalent ZnMg12 cuboctahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°.
