Abstract

This data set has been derived from various ARM and external data sources with the main aim of providing modelers easy access to quality controlled data for model evaluation. The data set contains highly aggregated (in time) data from a number of sources at the tropical ARM sites at Manus and Nauru. It spans the years of 1999 and 2000. The data set contains information on downward surface radiation; surface meteorology, including precipitation; atmospheric water vapor and cloud liquid water content; hydrometeor cover as a function of height; and cloud cover, cloud optical thickness and cloud top pressure information provided by the International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP).

ARM Diagnostics for Climate Model Evaluation

A Python-based diagnostics package is currently being developed by the ARM Infrastructure Team to facilitate the use of long-term high-frequency measurements from the ARM program in evaluating the regional climate simulation of clouds, radiation, and precipitation. This diagnostics package computes climatological means of targeted climate model simulation and generates tables and plots for comparing the model simulation with ARM observational data. The ARM Best Estimate Station-based Surface (ARMBESTNS) Data set

The ARM Best Estimate Station-based Surface (ARMBESTNS) data set merges together key surface measurements from the Southern Great Plains (SGP) sites. It is a twin data product of the ARM Best Estimate 2-dimensional Gridded Surface (ARMBE2DGRID) data set. Unlike the 2DGRID data set, the STNS data are reported at the original site locations and show the original information, except for the interpolation over time. Therefore, users have the flexibility to process the data with the approach more suitable for their applications.

This is the AmeriFlux version of the carbon flux data for the site US-ARM ARM Southern Great Plains site- Lamont. Site Description - Central facility tower crop field (winter wheat, corn, soy, alfalfa). The site also has continuous measurements of precise mixing ratios of CO2, CH4, CO, N2O, and isotopic ratio of 13CO2. In addition to 4 m system, there are sonic anemometers at 25 m and 60 m.
Curated Modeled Fault Data Set

The curated fault model simulation data set consists of tagged and fully-described time series representing simulated faults for the AFDD test building (ORNLs Flexible Research Platform (FRP)), including baseline performance, faulty performance, and corresponding energy impact. A total of 26 fault models are considered for 99 simulation scenarios with various fault intensity levels.
