Abstract

Forcing data, suitable for use with single column models (SCMs) and cloud resolving models (CRMs), have been derived from NWP analyses for the ARM (Atmospheric Radiation Measurement) Tropical Western Pacific (TWP) sites of Manus Island and Nauru.

Statistical study of Single Column Model (SCM) results has been recently advocated by the ARM cloud parameterization and modeling working group. This is partly due to the sensitivity nature of Single Column Models (SCMs) to uncertainties in the initial conditions and the specified large-scale forcing. Single-Column Model (SCM) Forcing Data are derived from the ARM facility observational data using the constrained variational analysis approach (Zhang and Lin 1997 and Zhang et al., 2001). The resulting products include both the large-scale forcing terms and the evaluation fields, which can be used for driving the SCMs and Cloud Resolving Models (CRMs) and validating model simulations.
Data supporting manuscript from L. Sheneman, G. Stephanopoulos, A.E. Vasdekis titled "Deep learning classification of lipid droplets in quantitative phase images" as currently under review at PLOS ONE. This includes: 1) raw and binary labeled Quantitative Phase Images (QPI) of Y. lipolytica cells used in the analyses described within the manuscript. 2) various derived data including classifier scores, etc.
