Title: Materials Data on EuSnP by Materials Project

Abstract

EuSnP crystallizes in the tetragonal P4/nmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Eu is bonded to one Sn and five equivalent P atoms to form distorted EuSnP5 octahedra that share a cornercorner with one PEu5Sn octahedra, corners with four equivalent EuSnP5 octahedra, and edges with eight equivalent EuSnP5 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–2°. The Eu–Sn bond length is 3.33 Å. There are one shorter (2.90 Å) and four longer (3.02 Å) Eu–P bond lengths. Sn is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to one Eu and one P atom. The Sn–P bond length is 2.50 Å. P is bonded to five equivalent Eu and one Sn atom to form PEu5Sn octahedra that share a cornercorner with one EuSnP5 octahedra, corners with four equivalent PEu5Sn octahedra, and edges with eight equivalent PEu5Sn octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–2°.
