Pb(Zr{sub 0.5}Ti{sub 0.5})O{sub 3} powders were prepared by hydrolyzing the complex solutions synthesized from anhydrous lead acetate and titanium and zirconium n-propoxides dissolved in n-propanol or titanium and zirconium n-butoxides dissolved in n-butanol. The dried powders were calcined, milled in n-propanol or n-butanol and cold pressed. It was shown that the type of precursor used influenced the morphology and cold compaction behaviour of the powders.
