Methane emission flux from a rice paddy field in Beijing, China was monitored over a complete growing season in order to evaluate seasonal variations. This paper describes the results of this study which indicate that a strong seasonal variation in methane emissions does occur. Other factors influencing the rate of methane emission include the use of organic fertilizer, irrigation pattern, and soil temperature. 13 refs., 3 figs., 7 tabs.
