Superconductivity partnership initiative: Alternative stator design

Conference ·
OSTI ID:98733

This presentation/paper gives an overview of the Oak Ridge National Lab`s collaboration with private industry in developing a alternative stator design for use with a high temperature superconductor rotating field winding and to recommend a methodology for transmitting operational data from the cryogenic winding while it is rotating. Highlighted is the lab`s general approach and technical progress towards coil design and performance specifications; The projects are in collaboration with General Electric Corporation and included are the proposed projects for FY 1995, key personnel, and the fiscal 1994 budgets.
