  1. Argonne National Lab., IL (United States)

This presentation gives an overview of the Argonne National Lab`s collaboration with private industry in developing High-Temperature Superconductor Current Leads (HTSCL). Highlighted is the lab`s general approach in development, fabrication, and AC/DC characterization of BSCCO HTSCLs. Also included are specifications such as: sintering process; critical current densities vrs. transition temperatures; design of 0.2 watt downlink; and external effects of AC loss. A update on technology transfers and patents is given, showing the progress made between Argonne and Westinghouse, ZerRes Corporation, Kalamazoo College, and Alfred University.
