Characteristics of UO2 Dissolution under Geologic Disposal Conditions Using SPFT

Journal Article · · Transactions of the American Nuclear Society, 97(1):73-74
OSTI ID:983449
Single pass flowthrough tests on UO2 and 8 wt% Gd-doped UO2 have been performed. Initial results show that the doped fuel is dissolving slower than the pure UO2. The dissolution rate seems to decrease with increasing temperature, which may be because the solution was pre-equilibrated to reduce exsolved oxygen.
