Tensor Forces and the Structure of Nuclei
The two preeminent features of the nucleon-nucleon interaction are its short-range repulsion and intermediate- to long-range tensor character. In the present talk, I review how these features influence two-nucleon densities in configuration and momentum space. The predicted large differences between the np and pp momentum distributions have been confirmed in 12C(e,e[prime] np) and 12C(e,e[prime] pp) experiments at Jefferson Lab.
