Fiber push-out tests were conducted on SiC (SCS-6) fiber reinforced SiC matrix composite samples to characterize the interfacial shear strength. Average debond shear and frictional sliding stresses were calculated. The effects of sample thickness and second phase addition in hthematrix were evaluated. In addition to room temperature tests, a limited number of push-out tests were conducted at 800{degrees}C to ascertain any effect of residual stress on the debond shear strength of the interface. Tested samples were examined by SEM to determine the location of the interfacial failures.
