Hall-effect studies of the mixed state of Y{sub 1-x}Pr{sub x}Ba{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7-delta} (0 {le} x {le} 0.42) and YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub y} (6.65 {le} y 6.84) single crystals.

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B
The maximum value {Delta} of the negative Hall resistivity {rho}{sub xy} of Y{sub 1-x}Pr{sub x}Ba{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7-{delta}} (0 {le} x {le} 0.13) and YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub y} (6.73{approx}<y{approx}<6.84) single crystals scales with T/{Tc}, exhibiting a maximum {Delta}{sub max} for T/{Tc}{approx}0.96 and vanishing for T/{Tc}{approx}<0.87. {Delta}{sub max} scales with {Tc} and decreases monotonically with decreasing Tc to zero for Tc{approx}<70 K. The Hall conductivity {sigma}{sub xy} vs. B data have been analyzed using the expression {sigma}{sub xy}=C{sub 1}/B+C{sub 2}B, where the two terms are associated with motion of the magnetic vortices and the quasiparticles in the vortex cores, respectively, yielding C{sub 1} and C{sub 2} as functions of x, y, and T.
