Search for Bs --> mu+mu- and Bd --> mu+mu- Decays with 2fb-1 of ppbar Collisions

The authors have performed a search for B{sub s}{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -} and B{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -} decays in p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV using 2 fb{sup -1} of integrated luminosity collected by the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The observed number of B{sub s}{sup 0} and B{sup 0} candidates is consistent with background expectations. The resulting upper limits on the branching fractions are {Beta}(B{sub s}{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -}) < 5.8 x 10{sup -8} and {Beta}(B{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -}) < 1.8 x 10{sup -8} at 95% C.L.
