This work describes a system to be used for thermal protection of downhole well logging and/or perforating equipment in hot offshore wells using a heat sink material which is initially at cryogenic temperatures, in conjunction with a pair of Dewar flasks. It discusses the design and performance of the heat sink and describes the materials it is made of.
