Development of an interactive model generator for the TRAC plan/safety analysis code

The Transient Analysis Code (TRAC) from Los Alamos National Laboratory is a key software analysis tool for performing reactor plant safety analysis studies. It depends on complicated input files for model definition and restart information. To simplify the data entry method and to reduce the startup and turnaround times between model creation and interpretation of results, a preprocessor model generator was developed. The model generator (MG), described in this paper, is an X Window-based graphical user interface (GUI), which acts as a preprocessor to the Los Alamos National Laboratory`s TRAC code. The MG is currently compatible with TRAC-PFI/MOD2-Version 5.3.
