Selected digital upgrades at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant

This paper describes two upgrade projects at Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant (CCNPP); the digital issues that were considered; the guidelines, codes, and standards that were used to deal with them; and the results of a U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) digital modifications inspection. The project focus will be (1) full-range digital feedwater control system (FRDFCS) (2) variable low-temperature overpressure protection (VLTOP) system.
