Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) performed an individual plant examination (WE) for the Hope Creek generating station (HCGS) to satisfy the requirements of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission`s Generic Letter 88-20. According to guidelines, the examination in eluded a human reliability assessment (HRA). The HRA involved the identification and quantification of operator action, affecting core damage sequences. The HRA included interactions between engineering, training, and plant operations personnel. It not only provided error probabilities but also a detailed basis for procedure evaluation and development, providing a critical link between analytical engineering discipline and practical plant operations.
