Mass-angle correlations of uranium-fission fragments

The angular distributions of selected-mass fragments of {sup 236}U fission induced by 1-MeV fast neutrons are measured. It is found that the spectrum averaged over kinetic energy differs qualitatively from the spectrum corresponding to different mass channels of fission. The possibility of determining the bifurcation region for the asymmetric valley of uranium is discussed. 31 refs., 10 figs.
