The functions of angular d{alpha} correlation in the reaction {sup 40}Ca({sup 6}Li, d){sup 44}Ti({alpha}){sup 40}Ca are measured. The results confirm earlier conclusions that the spectrum of the {sup 44}Ti nucleus contains an {alpha}-cluster rotational band whose even and odd states are not shifted in energy. These data on the {alpha} + {sup 40}Ca system, together with results obtained earlier for the systems {alpha} + {sup 24}Mg, {alpha} + {sup 28}Si, and {alpha} + {sup 32}S, lead to the conclusion that the formation of {alpha}-cluster quasi-molecular bands in light nuclei is a general phenomenon. 10 refs., 6 figs.
