The project?s goals were to examine how key properties of cable jackets and insulations changed with slow, long-term aging. Low-temperature oven aging of selected cable samples was performed, and density, tensile modulus, tensile elongation at break, and tensile strength were measured. These results were compared with previous, shorter term laboratory-aging data as well as observations from natural aging.
