Electric Bus Users Group Workshop Proceedings: April 2001 -- Tempe, Arizona
In April 2001, EPRI sponsored a meeting to discuss the electric bus industry. Participants included bus and component manufacturers, electric utilities, and present and prospective electric bus users. The main objective of this meeting was to identify and address key issues surrounding the development and deployment of electric buses. An action plan was formulated to address the key issues identified. Technical presentations included in these proceedings cover the following topics: (1) ELFA Drive with Ultracaps for Buses (Siemens Canada); (2) Electric Bus Propulsion System with Zebra Battery and Integrated Fast Charge (Santa Barbara Electric Bus Works); and (3) Emergency Response to Electric and Hybrid Buses (J Knapp Communications).
