Title: Measurement of the B0-->K0sK0sK0s Branching Fraction

Abstract

From a sample of 211 x 10{sup 6} B{bar B} decays recorded with the BABAR detector, the authors observe a signal of 71 {+-} 9 B{sup 0} --> K{sub s}{sup 0}K{sub s}{sup 0}K{sub s}{sup 0} decays, and with these measure a branching fraction B(B{sup 0} --> K{sub s}{sup 0}K{sub s}{sup 0}K{sub s}{sup 0}) = (6.5 {+-} 0.8 {+-} 0.8) x 10{sup -6}. This result is preliminary.

  • The b {yields} s{gamma} transition proceeds by a loop penguin diagram. It may be used to measure precisely the couplings of the top quark and to search for the effects of any new particles appearing in the loop. We present a preliminary measurement of the branching fraction of the exclusive decay, B{sup 0} {yields} K*{sup 0}{gamma}. They use 8.6 x 10{sup 6} B{bar B} decays to measure B(B{sup 0} {yields} K*{sup 0}{gamma}) = (5.4 {+-} 0.8 {+-} 0.5) x 10{sup -5}.
  • The B{sup 0} {yields} D*{sup -} a{sub 1}{sup +} branching fraction has been measured with data collected by the BaBar experiment in 1999 and 2000 corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 20.6 fb{sup -1}. Signal events have been selected using a partial reconstruction technique, in which only the a{sub 1}{sup +} and the slow pion ({pi}{sub s}) from the D*{sup -} decay are identified. A signal yield of 18400 {+-} 1200 events has been found, corresponding to a preliminary branching fraction of (1.20 {+-} 0.07(stat) {+-} 0.14(syst))%.
  • We present a measurement of the branching fraction for the decay of the neutral B meson into the final state J/{psi}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}. The data set contains approximately 56 million B{bar B} pairs produced at the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance and recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e{sup +}e{sup -} storage ring. The result of this analysis is {Beta}(B {sup 0} {yields} J/{psi} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}) = (4.6 {+-} 0.7 {+-} 0.6) x 10{sup -5}, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. In addition we measure {Beta}(B{sup 0} {yields} J?{psi}{rho}{sup 0}) = (1.6 {+-} 0.6more » {+-} 0.4 ) x 10{sup -5}.« less
  • The authors have observed the rare decay B{sup 0} {yields} {rho}{sup +}{rho}{sup -} in a sample of 89 million B{bar B} pairs recorded with the BABAR detector. The number of observed events is 88{sub -21}{sup +23} {+-} 9, with a significance of 5.1 standard deviations with systematic uncertainties included. The branching fraction and the longitudinal polarization are measured to be {Beta}(B{sup 0} {yields} {rho}{sup +}{rho}{sup -}) = (25{sub -6-6}{sup +7+5}) x 10{sup -6} and {Lambda}{sub L}/{Lambda} = 0.98{sub -0.08}{sup +0.02} {+-} 0.03, respectively.
  • We have observed the rare decay B{sup 0} {yields} {rho}{sup +}{rho}{sup -} in a sample of 89 million B{bar B} pairs recorded with the BABAR detector. We measure the branching fraction {Beta}(B{sup 0} {yields} {rho}{sup +}{rho}{sup -}) = (27{sub -6-7}{sup +7+5}) x 10{sup -6} and determine the longitudinal polarization fraction {Lambda}{sub L}/{Lambda} = 0.99{sub -0.07}{sup +0.01} {+-} 0.03. The results are preliminary.
