A method for evaluation of the resistance of low-alloy steels to sulfide stress corrosion cracking is suggested. This is essentially a modification of the NACE TM-01-77-90 standard based on testing wedge-loaded overhanging-beam specimens in corrosive media of H{sub 2}S. Values of the threshold stress intensity factor K{sub ISSC} for a number of grades of domestic and imported pipe steels were determined.
