Measurements of the Mass and Full-Width of the N{sub c} Meson

In a sample of 58 million J/{psi} events collected with the BES II detector, the process J/{psi} {yields} {gamma}{eta}{sub c} is observed in five different decay channels: {gamma} K{sup +} K{sup -} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}, {gamma}K{sup {+-}} K{sub S}{sup 0}{pi}{sup {-+}} (with K{sub S}{sup 0} {yields} {pi}{sup +} {pi}{sup -}), {gamma}{phi}{phi} (with {phi} {yields} K{sup +}K{sup -}) and {gamma}p{bar p}. From a combined fit of all five channels, they determine the mass and full-width of {eta}{sub c} to be m{sub {eta}{sub c}} = 2977.5 {+-} 1.0 (stat.) {+-} 1.2 (syst.) MeV/c{sup 2} and {Lambda}{sub {eta}{sub c}} = 17.0 {+-} 3.7 (stat.) {+-} 7.4 (syst.) MeV/c{sup 2}.
