Resonance structures are known to exist in kink-antikink (K{tilde K}) interactions in {lambda}{phi}{sup 4} field theory. Further investigations showed that the answer to the question whether K{tilde K} interaction leads to the formation of a bound state depends in a fractal manner on the initial velocity. It is shown here that such behavior in K{tilde K} interaction is possible only in the absence of radiation. However, if the method of collective coordinates is used to reduce the infinite-dimensional system to a system with a finite number of degrees of freedom, a structure that is fractal in the parameter of the initial velocity may be realized. 9 refs.
