Report on DOE reactor sharing at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Reactor RCF for the period 1 Jan 1995 to the present

The purpose of this activity is to share the RPI Reactor Critical Facility (RCF) with other educational institutions. There have been 17 reactor sharing events, with a total 291 visitors, since 1 Jan 1995. A typical reactor sharing event at the RCF brings outside groups into the facility for a tour, an explanation of reactor matters, and a reactor measurement. Such events have involved groups ranging from high school classes to advanced college groups; sizes have ranged from a few to approximately 50 visitors. The RCF differs from other university reactors in that its fuel is like that of large power reactors, and its research and curriculum are dedicated to power reactor matters.
