Do You Want to Know What's in an Approved License Termination Plan

Since the License Termination Rule became effective August 1997, Portland General Electric Company (PGE) has become the lead commercial nuclear power plant (NPP) for submitting and gaining approval of a license termination plan (LTP) for its Trojan nuclear plant. This paper details what is in the Trojan LTP and what other supplementary information needed to be provided to support regulatory review and anticipated approval of the Trojan LTP. It also recommends actions by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and utilities to improve the review and approval process.
