Title: A Study on the Luminescent Properties of Red-Emitting Praseodymium-Activated SrIn

Journal Article · · Journal of Solid State Chemistry

The photoluminescent (PL) properties of new red-emitting praseodymium-activated strontium in dates have been investigated. A series of SrIn{sub 2}O{sub 4}: x Pr{sup 3+} (x=6.25x10{sup {minus}4}, 0.5%, 2%, and 4%) phases were synthesized and found to exhibit red emission. With different levels of Pr{sup 3+} doping, the absolute brightness, CIE chromatic characteristics, PL and cathodoluminescence spectra, and luminescence decay lifetime ({tau}{sub R}) for SrIn{sub 2}O{sub 4}: x Pr{sup 3+} have been systematically investigated. The results are reported and their implications are discussed.
