Pion Production with Polarized Beam and Polarized Target at IUCF

The PINTEX experimental apparatus used for detection of {rvec p}{rvec p} {yields} pp{pi}{sup 0} and {rvec p}{rvec p} {yields} pn{pi}{sup +} at IUCF is described. Measured spin observables, integrated as well as angle- or energy-dependent, are compared with the Juelich model. Significant discrepancies are found for the angular distributions.
