Temporal response of the thermal boundary resistance in superfluid helium

We report measurements of the thermal response {Delta}{ital T}({omega}) across a layer (height {ital d}) of superfluid helium to an ac heat flux, {ital Q}({ital t})={ital Q}{sub 0}{ital e}{sup {ital i}{omega}{ital t}}. In this case {Delta}{ital T}({omega}) yields the boundary resistance, {ital R}{sub {ital b}}. Measurements show a peak in {Delta}{ital T}({omega}) in the same temperature regime as the anomalous dc boundary resistance. The peak frequency and amplitude depend on {ital T} and {ital Q}{sub 0}, but not {ital d}. The range of {ital d} was 0{le}{ital d}{le}3 mm. The sample has a nominal {sup 3}He concentration of {ital X}=2{times}10{sup {minus}7}.
