Journal Article · · Transactions of the American Nuclear Society
OSTI ID:76133
The Ebasco Division of Raytheon Engineers and Constructors and RedZone Robotics have been contracted by Westinghouse Hanford Company to perform an inspection of the 28 double-shell waste storage tanks at the Hanford Reservation in Richland, Washington. The design and fabrication of a robotic inspection system is part of this contract. The inspection consists of ultrasonic testing (UT) and visual testing (VT) of the walls of the primary and secondary tanks and the primary tank knuckle and bottom via air slots under the tank. This paper describes the requirements imposed by the application and the design of the resulting robotic, UT, and VT systems.
