Control rooms for advanced nuclear power plants use advanced human-system interface (HSI) technologies that may have imlpications for plant safety in the respect that they will affect the operators overall role in the system and the ways in which operators interact with the system. The NRC reviews HSI`s to ensure that they are designed in accordance with human factors engineering principles. This paper presents a review methodology for the HSI review to improve the reviewers ability to make the guidelines more sensitive to the operators task.
