Heber Binary Project: binary cycle geothermal demonstration power plant (RP1900-1)

Conference ·
OSTI ID:7369599
The objectives of the Heber Binary Project are to demonstrate the potential of moderate temperature (below 410/sup 0/F) geothermal energy to produce economic electric power with binary cycle conversion technology, and to establish schedule, cost and equipment performance, reservoir performance, and the environmental acceptability of such plants. The plant will be the first large-scale power generating facility in the US utilizing the binary conversion process. The power cycle, design progress, turbine generator, heat exchangers and condensers, materials selection, heat sales contract, and construction schedule are discussed.
