Utah Power and Light Company's geothermal development activities at Roosevelt Hot Springs near Milford, Utah are discussed. The company is proceeding with the design and the construction of a 20 MW geothermal generating unit called Milford No. 1. The plant will utilize a hydrothermal reservoir about 2000 ft from the surface with a temperature of 500/sup 0/F. The project status, major equipment, construction schedule, construction highlights, and alternative generation concepts are discussed.
